DIY Soldering Station – Organized & Ready
Built a custom 3D-printed soldering station to keep my bench organized. It holds the iron, wire spool, and heat-resistant mat — making soldering safer, faster, and cleaner.
After some designing, 3D printing, and assembly, I’ve built a custom soldering station to keep my workbench tidy and improve my workflow.
The station holds my Toolour soldering gun, keeps the solder wire spool accessible, and includes a spring holder plus a work area with a heat-resistant pad for safe soldering.
🔩 Components Used
- 1× Toolour Soldering Iron Gun – main soldering tool
- 1× 3D Printed Stand – custom designed to hold everything in place
- 1× Solder Wire Spool Holder – mounted for easy feed during soldering
- 1× Spring Coil Holder – safe resting spot for the hot iron
- 1× Heat-Resistant Mat – protects the base from solder drips and burns
🧠 How It Works
- The soldering iron gun rests securely in the spring coil holder when not in use.
- The wire spool holder keeps solder wire ready to be pulled while working.
- The base mat catches solder splashes and protects the surface.
- The 3D printed stand keeps the entire setup stable and compact.
This makes the soldering process safer, faster, and more organized.
📐 Design & Build
1. Stand Design
The 3D printed stand was designed to:
- Support the soldering gun at an angle for easy access.
- Hold the wire spool with smooth rotation.
- Provide a dedicated spring mount for the hot tip.
- Include a flat base for the soldering mat and workspace.
2. Assembly
- The gun slides into the top holder and locks in place.
- The wire spool is mounted on the side with a rod.
- The spring holder is screwed into the base.
- The heat-resistant pad sits at the bottom for protection.
✅ Conclusion
The custom soldering station keeps all tools organized, accessible, and safe.
It’s compact enough for my bench and makes soldering projects much more efficient.
This setup is a big improvement over having tools scattered around, and it’s a simple DIY upgrade for any electronics workspace. ⚡🔧
